Temporary black out

Yesterday and today I had migraines so severe that I couldn't do anything more than lay on the couch and try not to lose my stomach. I lost that battle a few times.

So absolutely nothing got done, but it's ok. We had leftovers in the fridge enough for hubby's lunch this morning, and dinner last night. Right now my first priority is my health, so getting food in me outranks my other to do list items.

I'll get back on track with Day 4 tomorrow!

Edit:
I'm going to give myself more credit than I originally had. Especially because my hubby stepped up and got some things moving.
He did one load of dishes while I cooked dinner, and then I did a second while he cut up fruit and veggies for breakfast and lunches tomorrow.
I pushed three loads of laundry through.
AND I managed to eat some good dinner and drink a good bit of water, even if it was in shifts.

So. My sink is shined, we have fresh gutchies and clothes for tomorrow, and healthy meals prepared. Not too shabby.

Day 3

Today you are doing what we have already done.

-Getting up and dressing to lace up shoes
-Keeping your sink shining

This actually has been going well. Sink is cleanish, breakfast and dinner made. I had pizza at my mum's, and made scrambled eggs with peppers for hubby for lunch. Spent an hour in the front yard weeding and trimming a few problem shrubs. Built my mum's porch swing that's been sitting in the box for 3 years for her.

An easy but seeming productive Sunday.

Tonight I'd like to cut up veggies for hubby's lunch tomorrow and some fruit for our breakfasts, so they're ready to go.

Tomorrow's goals:
  • Post office
  • 2 hours on android
  • 3 loads of laundry
  • Clean out 100 messages from inbox
  • 15-30 minutes in craft room
  • Call used furniture store about selling bedroom set?
  • Walk dog

Day 1

Today's FlyLady BabyStep:
Go Shine Your Sink

My sink is white, textured plastic that doesn't seem to stay clean, even when there are no dishes in it. I do my best with it, but it drives me crazy. It doesn't even have a proper slope to drain correctly, so "drying" after every use would just leave me with wet rag after wet rag. But I soaked bleach in it, and then scrubbed. Looks MUCH better, even with a few stains left.

Today was our first full day home after coming back from a short "vacation" - to go to a friend's wedding, and then for my hubby to attend a conference. We had lots of laundry! Hubby worked from home today before getting back to the full swing of things next week.

Things I accomplished today:
  • Bleached & "shined" sink.
  • Kitty Litter Scooped
  • 3 loads of laundry all the way through and folded
  • 4! garbage bags full of ill-fitting clothing packed up for Goodwill.
  • Dishwasher emptied and started refilling
  • Kitchen floor swept
  • Dog walked
  • Healthy Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
  • Back porch swept & spruced up
Goals to focus on:
  • Healthy lunches for hubby next week
  • Get up when the alarm goes off! Morning routine and breakfast!
  • 30 minutes in craft room a day until done
  • 1 hour of actual focused programming projects

The Intro

I am an unemployed programmer who now stays at home full time. At the time of this post, I am 13 weeks pregnant with twins, due in November. My husband works full time out of the house, and these will be our first children.

I'm keeping this blog as a journal to improve my home organization and prepare for babies, roughly following FlyLady's well known system.

Our house is cluttered, but not generally to the point of squalor. Yes, the kitchen might get piled, yes the bathroom could use a scrub. I am using this space to keep track of what I want to accomplish daily, weekly, and to record progress on longer term projects.
